I saw Paramore for the second time earlier this week at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia. The show was the last stop on the band’s tour to support their fourth self-titled album, which showcased the band experimenting with a few new sounds (full review here). It’s also worth noting that the album is also the band’s first studio effort without the Farro brothers.

Gavin Degraw and Ed Sheeran surprised fans in New Jersey at WPLJ Summer Blast-Off with an impromptu performance of Degraw’s “I Don’t Wanna Be” and Sheeran’s “The A Team.” There wasn’t anything polished about the performance, but there’s something about seeing two really talented artists jam out for nearly 10 minutes together on stage that makes me very, very happy. Maybe the two will collaborate on a song in the future? A girl can only hope…

Fun fact: I loved Gavin Degraw’s “I Don’t Wanna Be” so much in high school that I chose it as the song that best described my outlook on life when filling out a college application. And, yes, I got accepted. I also named my guitar Gavin. My love runs deep… Continue reading

Mariah Carey performs on "Good Morning America"

Mariah Carey performs on “Good Morning America”

Mariah Carey & Miguel appeared on Good Morning America this morning and everything went wrong. No, Miguel didn’t harm anyone this time, but still. Shortly after performing “Always Be My Baby” Carey’s dress popped open in the back and she exclaimed “Oh, sh*t” on live television. We’ll chalk it all up to the fact that it was “very early” (8:30 a.m.) and Mariah Carey is not use to being up at that hour. The diva hadn’t even put her mic pack on before she got on stage!

Following the entertaining mishaps, Miguel joined Mariah Carey on stage for a performance of their latest single “Beautiful.” The audio wasn’t the best, but Carey’s vocals were 100% live so that was a bonus! Continue reading

Jhene Aiko spits more real in her latest release “Comfort Inn Ending.” Aiko, who is preparing to release her Def Jam debut Souled Out, sings of a night shared with a lover at the Comfort Inn in the No I.D. produced track. The bad news is the song is only two minutes long. I mean, it’s not every day we get new music from Aiko, so when we do I seriously wouldn’t mind if she pulled a Justin Timberlake and released a six minute song. Just saying. Still, two minutes from her is often better than a regular-length song from some other artists… Continue reading

Sevyn Streeter released the spring/summer anthem “I Like It” earlier this year and today she’s released yet another track from her forthcoming solo debut. Prior to releasing “I Like It,” Streeter did a lot of background vocals for Chris Brown and her vocals on this track are very reminiscent of their work together. The moody track is much different than her first upbeat single, but I’m sure ladies everywhere will sing along and feel the lyrics about not being able to get over a lover. Continue reading

T.I. & CeeLo Green in "Hello" video

T.I. & CeeLo Green in “Hello” video

T.I. and CeeLo Green team up with T.I. and Tiny’s family for the “Hello” video. In the clip, T.I. and his family reunite in a saloon where Tiny is a singer and the OMG Girls are waitresses after a long journey through the desert. Honestly, the video isn’t the greatest, but if you’re a fan of the family’s VH1 show T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle then you saw them filming this video on the most recent episode and got to swoon, once again, over how cute the Harris’ youngest son Major is. Adam Levine in Maroon 5's "Love Somebody" video

Adam Levine in Maroon 5′s “Love Somebody” video

The video for Maroon 5′s “Love Somebody” looks extremely simple, but the theme is beautiful. Adam Levine and his bandmates only half exist, literally, until they mold the perfect lovers, who help them to become whole in return. At least that’s what I got from the sexy video in which Levine and a woman use their hands to create the rest of each other with a paint-like substance. As a fan of M5′s older material I’ve tried my hardest to detest this new stuff, but with each new single I find myself singing along and hitting replay. There’s something really intimate about this video. And, really, who doesn’t want to feel closer to Adam Levine? Continue reading

The newest X Factor US judge, Kelly Rowland, is releasing her fourth studio album Talk A Good Game on June 18. The “Dirty Laundry” singer released the album tracklisting for the project today and, according to the list, the album will feature 12 songs with features from artists like Pusha T and Rowland’s Destiny’s Child sisters Michelle Williams and Beyonce. Based on the singles we’ve heard so far (“Dirty Laundry” and “Kisses Down Low“) I think it’s safe to assume this album will cover a wide variety of topics. Also, is Kelly Rowland putting reusing “This Is Love” or is she doing another song with the same name? Hmmmm. Continue reading

Remember that time Paris Hilton released the auto-tune-heavy party track “Last Night (I Wanna Bang You)” with the help of Young Money Cash Money rapper Lil Wayne? Well, despite the track getting very little attention, it seems the two may be working together again soon. Paris Hilton revealed plans to release her sophomore album this summer…under her new label Cash Money Records. Maybe. The singer told Showbiz 411 that she’d signed with the label, but MTV says her rep did not confirm the report. Hilton says the album will feature house music. Continue reading

Nicki Minaj spits a few hot bars about Atlanta life on the fast-paced “I’m Out,” Ciara’s latest release from her forthcoming self-titled album. Ciara raps her verse about partying after a breakup, instead of singing it. I hate to bring up Cici’s enemy Rihanna, but this is the kind of track the island pop star could’ve put her stamp on. Anywho, the busy track knocks, but it’s also pretty forgettable. Speaking of forgetting, did Ciara forget she had a hot single named “Body Party” that she could be promoting?

Ciara will be released July 9.
