T.I. on “Behind the Music” – VH1
Set to air November 6th on VH1, T.I. gets honest about his upbringing, and his time in prison (though possibly for the last time: “Don’t ask me no mo’ about no damn prison.”) on his updated version of Behind the Music.and clears the air about what led to him stock piling all those weapons in the first place. Of course things come full circle when he talks about his reality show on the network, T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, and his upcoming album, Troubleman.

Toni Braxton on “Behind the Music” – VH1
Last week, we brought you preview clips of Toni Braxton’s episode of Behind the Music. The R&B singer’s episode aired last night and today the episode is available online in full. In the one hour show, Toni talked about her upbringing in a strict Christian household, her mother training the Braxton sister’s vocally, her on-again-off-again relationship with LaFace records, her bankruptcy filings and her family life, including her first son’s autism diagnosis.

Toni Braxton will be on this Sunday’s episode of Behind the Music and it’s going to a be a good. Toni talks in depth about filing for bankruptcy twice, her music career ups and downs, her lupus diagnosis, and discovering her son has autism.
VH1 also has a “Behind the Song” featuring the story behind one of the subject’s songs. Toni and her co-writers L.A. Reid and Babyface discuss what went into making Braxton’s “Your Makin’ Me High”. It went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1996 and got her a Grammy. It’s an interesting story!

One of my favorite Katy Perry songs is “Circle The Drain.” The harsh song takes several jabs at Katy’s ex boyfriend Travie McCoy for caring more about his pills than their relationship.
On an upcoming episode of Behind The Music, Travie McCoy talks in depth about his drug addiction and breakup with Katy Perry. Travie says shortly after breaking up with Perry, he decided it was time to kick his drug habit for good. After 4 failed trips to rehab, he woke up and went to the bathroom to grab his pills. Travie says he took a look at his caving face and decided it was time to quit cold turkey. Fearing he would die if he didn’t kick his addiction, Travie endured the withdrawal symptoms with the help of his friend and says he
has been clean ever since.

Nicole Scherzinger came under attack last week when footage from her Behind The Music episode appeared online. In the clip, Nicole Scherzinger alleged that she did 95% of the work in The Pussycat Dolls, and that most of the time the other members wouldn’t hear the albums until it was completely finished. The episode aired in full over the weekend, and during the hour-long episode Nicole discusses her time with PCD in depth, and her life since leaving the successful group. She also reveals her struggle with bulimia.

In her Behind the Music special set to air on Vh1 October 7th, Nicole Scherzinger reveals what most people could probably guess about the group once known as the Pussycat Dolls. In a preview clip from the episode, she says “I love those girls, they’re like my sisters, but they have no idea…I was in the center because I was singing. I was the one singing. Oh man… I hope that I don’t get in trouble for the stuff I say”.

Earlier this week Neyo’s “Behind The Music” aired on VH1. During the hour-long documentary-styled episode Neyo discusses personal and professional struggles and triumphs including working with Beyonce, and Michael Jackson, and finding out that the son he was taking care of wasn’t his paternally.

Last night VH1 aired the Behind The Music special on singer Brandy Norwood. If you’re around my age then you probably remember growing up to Brandy’s music and watching her grow into the woman she is today. I wasn’t old enough to fully appreciate her first album, but I can vividly remember dancing at home in front of the mirror to Never Say Never and Full Moon, AND seeing every episode of Moesha. That being said I was really excited to see how this special would portray Brandy. The documentary did a great job of touching on Brandy’s success as an artist as well as some of her trying times. Those of us who grew up with Brandy didn’t always see the eating disorder, heartbreak, and tragedy that occurred in her life so it’s definitely interesting to hear her speak on some of those things for the first time. Brandy also talks about her relationship, and last few moment with Whitney Houston. Check out the full episode below!! Continue reading
