Brandy performs at the BET Honors

Brandy brought her sultry tone and melodic riffs to the BET Honors for a performance of her new single “Without You.” I posted rehearsal footage from the show a few days ago, but the full performance is pretty dope!

Though the BET Honors was filmed weeks ago, it premiered on Brandy’s birthday and the anniversary of her friend/mentor Whitney Houston’s death. Brandy’s album, Two Eleven is named after these events and is in stores now. Continue reading

Brandy & Bangladesh (Instagram)

I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Brandy yesterday when she came to Atlanta and performed at the Honda Battle of the Bands. I wasn’t sure how many songs she’d sing, but she surprised me by taking it back with “What About Us,” and “Full Moon,” before closing the show with “Wildest Dreams” and “Put It Down.”

She sounded and looked amazing as usual!

Essence

Brandy, Jill Scott, Keyshia Cole and Maxwell will headline the 2013 Essence Music Festival this July. Other performers set to hit one of the many stages during the festival are Blackstreet, New Edition and LL Cool J.

In addition to performances, lectures on politics and health will also take place during the four-day event.

I haven’t been to this festival yet, but I definitely want to go this year if possible! Are you interested in the 2013 Essence Music Festival and the performers that have been announced?

Brandy hit the stage after midnight to perform two of her Two Eleven singles on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Fresh off vacay, she hit her choreographed dance moves and sounded AMAZING during both performances!

It’s just something about her tone and those signature runs that get me every time!

“When you say jump I say ‘How High.’

Brandy surprised fans with a holiday treat in the form of a previously unreleased song earlier this week. “How High” didn’t make Two Eleven, but it’s sure to make a few fans happy as it finds Brandy singing about a toxic love as most of the album does.

If Brandy had the right promo this era could’ve been GREAT. Continue reading

Island, RCA, FOX Broadcasting, Atlantic Records

Most artists that were praised at one time will go through a period where their popularity dips for some reason or another. That may end up meaning that their albums don’t sell the way they used to. Sometimes it’s the fault of the artist, other times it’s just not the right time. Continue reading

Brandy in “Wildest Dreams” Video

Brandy struts around on stage with her backup dancers in the “Wildest Dreams” video. I expected more for this video, if I’m being honest, but it’s cute and I love her, still.
