Few women can get away with being as bold as Robyn is on “Call Your Girlfriend.” Seriously, ol’ girl is the mistress telling her paramour how to break up with his girlfriend…
That being said, I get nervous every time someone covers this song because Robyn does it SO well (and the cup covers are untouchable), but Cher Lloyd decided to give it a go earlier this week. Sporting a new blue hairstyle, Lloyd put her own spin on the pop tune.

Cher Lloyd released an alternative video for her single “With Your Love.” The video shows Lloyd playing polar opposites: a good princess and a potion-mixing vixen. It’s random, and I think the original video does a better job of encompassing the flirtatious, youthful vibes of the song, but this was certainly a fun treat for fans.
Lloyd’s debut album, Sticks & Stones was released in 2011, but she’s stretched the singles out with several alternative videos. Continue reading
Today UK celeb Cher Lloyd released a second video for her song “Want You Back.” The first video was released in January and featured an impromptu verse from X Factor’s Astro. This version takes place in a diner and shows Cher getting arrested after seeking revenge on her ex’s new girl, then throwing a huge party. It’s definitely a cute video, but I’ve been pretty pleased with all of the visuals she’s released so far! Check out the newest video for “Want You Back” below!! Continue reading
Cher Lloyd sneaks into her ex’s pictures with his new girlfriend in her new video for “Want You Back.” She even added a verse from X Factor rapper Astro!!! The video is so fun and tech heavy that I find it hard to believe that anyone would dislike it. Check it out below and let me know what you think!!! Continue reading
Pop star Cher Lloyd shows off her hip hop side in Dub On The Track. Her next single, “Want You Back” will satisfy the young pop crowd who loved her previous singles, but it’s good to see she at least released a video for this song. What do you guys think about the song/video? Continue reading
Cher Lloyd made her way on to the scene when her audition for X-Factor went viral. The world was captivated by this little British girl singing the Keri Hilson version of Turn My Swag On. She was signed to SyCo Music by Simon Cowell, but many wondered if her interesting “swag” could translate into a decent album. Cher’s debut album Sticks & Stones was released this week on November 7 and I think teenagers who like her style and vocals will instantly love this album.
I had to constantly keep reminding myself that Cher is only 18 (maybe it’s the old name, or the fact that she looks like she’s in her 20s that kept throwing me off) The album is veryyyyy youthful in terms of the (reallyyyy repetitive) melodies and lyrical content and if you forget that she’s still pretty young you’ll be very confused. This album was definitely made for a teenage crowd, and you are reminded by that as soon as the album starts with Grow Up ft. Busta Rhymes. The song has a dance hall/pop feel to it as Cher sings “We ain’t never gonna grow up, we just want to get down.” She follows that line up by showing off her rapping skills as she does throughout the album in songs like the first single Swagger Jagger, Dub on the Track and Superhero. I know the rapping is a part of her personality, but it honestly is something this album could’ve done without. Without the rapping Superhero is easily one of my favorites on the album. Cher sings to an old love that turns sour “Went to sleep a superhero, but he woke up a villian, killing and killing.” Cher continues with the youthful, upbeat tracks on Want You Back, a song about wanting a boy she dumped to come back to her. Immature? Yes. Catchy? Yes. Other songs like Play Boi, End Up Here, and Over the Moon failed to grab my attention the first few times, but my ultimate favorite was the song that was the most sonically different from all the others. Beautiful People featuring Carolina Liar slows things down, and shows Cher’s vulnerable side. “Cuz it’s beautiful people like you, who get whatever they want.” This song shows off Cher’s vocals (minus all the repetitive lyrics) and proves that she deserved to get a record contract, because’s she’s really talented!
Overall this album wasn’t one of my favorites, but it did make me take Cher seriously as an artist. She’s a very talented girl and I think with work and a little fine tuning she could be a very successful artist! Oh, and no more rapping. Pretty please :)
Lyrical Content: 2/5
Vocal delivery: 3/5
Production: 3/5
Cher Lloyd has released her second music video and unlike the first one I fell in love with it instantly! The song, the fashion, the baloons, everything about this video (except Mike Posner…he weirds me out sometimes) is soooo addicting to me. I like Cher Lloyd when she keeps it simple.
What do you guys think?
Cher Lloyd decided to take a much calmer approach with her new single than she did with her first. Instead of showing off her swagger, this time Cher slowed it down and showed off her voice. I actually like it!! Check it out and tell me what you think!
LMFAO.
I have no further comment. Check out Cher’s debut single and let me know what you think! The Roc Nation signee is set to release her debut album this September in the UK.
Hear the song after the jump!!
