During a show for Boston’s Kiss 108 “Heart Attack” singer Demi Lovato performed a cover of Rihanna’s hit single “Stay.” Demi clearly has the vocal ability needed to perform the song, but the cover lacked the emotion and heartache that fans are use to hearing when Rihanna performs the song. Still, it’s worth a listen! Continue reading
Demi Lovato has transformed from a teenager to a young woman in the public eye since releasing her debut album Don’t Forget in 2008, but at her core she’s still a vulnerable girl who longs for love and acceptance just like the rest. Today the singer released her fourth studio album Demi, her second album since publicly addressing personal issues like self-harming. This this album isn’t as heavy as Unbroken, however. Demi features more riffs and powerhouse vocals mixed with playfully serious lyrics, a combination that has worked for Lovato since “Get Back.” Lovato has quite a few writing credits on this album so I expected her to incorporate a lot of her experiences into the album, but unfortunately she keeps things light and on the surface, for the most part. Here We Go Again, Lovato’s sophomore album, is still the most solid album she’s released to date, but Demi displays the discord within Lovato who’s not a girl, not yet a woman (*slaps knee*) perfectly.

Demi Lovato’s album won’t be released until May 14, but Lavotics unveiled the entire album more than a week early so fans can hear what’s to come. As usual, I’m saving my thoughts for my review, but you can hear the album including lead single “Heart Attack” in full below! Continue reading
After releasing the video for “Heart Attack” last night, Demi Lovato hit up Good Morning America this morning to perform the single. Lovato looked confident as she walked around the stage singing the vocally challenging song and interacting with fans.
“Heart Attack” is the lead single from Lovato’s forthcoming album Demi, which will be released May 14. Continue reading
E! premiered Demi Lovato’s “Heart Attack” video moments ago and the simple video plays on black and white images. Performance shots of Demi dressed in black are shown along with shots of Lovato dressed in a white t-shirt and covered in black paint. The video is simple, but the ink blots and dramatic lighting are effective.
It’s not the video I expected from the former Disney star, but the sleak, mature look is pretty cool!
Watch the video for “Heart Attack” here and share your thoughts! Demi will be released on May 14.
Over the weekend Demi Lovato released a short teaser for the “Heart Attack” video. In the clip, she is seen waving her paint-covered hands over her face. Today, a new teaser was released, this time showing Lovato staring into the camera with her hair blowing in the wind.
These teasers don’t show anything about the actual plot of the video (if there is one), but Lovato looks gorgeous and that’s all that matters, right?
The video will be released in full tomorrow (April 9). “Heart Attack” is the lead single from Demi which will be released on May 14. Continue reading
After revealing the album artwork and release date for her forthcoming album, Demi Lovato hit up Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform the lead single “Heart Attack” for the first time on television. The performance was a little screamy, but Lovato looked so mature with her short hair and blazer. Loving the look!
She also performed her hit song “Give Your Heart A Break.”

Demi Lovato released the album artwork for her forthcoming fourth studio album Demi this morning via twitter and an album teaser on her website.
The singer wears nothing but silver glitter in the intimate shot, where she stares directly into the camera.

35 is the number of the week! This week, both Demi Lovato and the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s new singles debuted on the Pop Songs and Alternative Songs Charts, respectively, at no. 35.
After an early leak, Demi’s been on the promo-trail promoting “Heart Attack” and apparently it’s paid off, as the single debuted on the Pop Songs Chart this week at no. 35. Demi received her first no. 1 last year with “Give Your Heart A Break.” Do you think “Heart Attack” will follow in its predecessor’s footsteps?!
Similarly, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ gospel-influenced single “Sacrilege” debuted at no. 35 on the Alternative Songs Chart this week. Ironically, this week marks the nine year anniversary of the group’s first appearance on the chart with “Maps.”
“Sacrilege” is the lead single from Mosquito (April 16).
Demi Lovato’s new single “Heart Attack” leaked earlier this week and her team has been working hard to make sure they stay in control, pushing her interview with Ryan Seacrest, the Itunes and lyric video releases up to this week.
After teasing the lyric video earlier this morning, Demi released it via twitter moments ago. The video is simple, compared to the more sophisticated lyric videos we’ve been seeing this year, with the “Heart Attack” lyrics appearing in front of a grey backdrop with hashtags from Demi’s fans.
Tegan & Sara also released a lyric video today, but theirs showed a bit more creativity. The twins said they wanted the lyric video for “Now I’m All Messed Up” to feature inkblots and remind fans of when they would write love letters only to have the ink smeared by their tears. It’s depressing, but clever. The only issue is it’s so artsy, it’s barely legible!
Whatever, who needs to read the lyrics in a lyric video ANYWAY.
Check out both videos below and share your thoughts! Continue reading
