Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding in “I Need Your Love” video

Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding would make a really cute couple. I know this because the two play a couple in the video for “I Need Your Love.” The new clip is full shots of the two kissing, laying in bed together and running around the city in love. The video has the feel of a homemade video and between shots of Goulding and Harris we see random people stealing the couple’s camera and showing off their own lives.

It’s fun and entertaining enough that I forget how annoyingly repetitive this song can be. Continue reading

Last week Bruno Mars revealed plans to go on a massive world tour and it was rumored that Ellie Goulding and Fitz & the Tantrums would be joining him as opening acts.

Today, the soulful crooner released the massive list of tour dates. The North American portion of “The Moonshine World Tour” will kick off on June 22 in D.C and end on September 1 in Puerto Rico (fitting since Mars is part Puerto Rican). Ellie Goulding and Fitz & the Tantrums will alternate as opening acts during these dates. The Europe portion of the tour kicks off one month later on Oct. 2 in Belfast and ends on Nov. 9 in Budapest.

I’m tired from just thinking about all of the traveling! Bruno always seems to have fun when performing so I’m sure this tour will be a blast!

Tickets go on sale March 1! Check out the lengthy list of tour dates here!

TeganandSara.tumblr.com; Ellie Goulding performs on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Tegan & Sara stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show for the first time today to perform Heartthrob‘s lead single “Closer.” The performance was similar to their other performances of the single, but it’s always fun to see these ladies out and about on the promo trail.

Tegan & Sara recently announced that they will be touring with fun. over the summer.

Ellie Goulding also performed on television last night, hitting up Jimmy Kimmel Live! to sing “Anything Could Happen,” the second single from her sophomore album Halcyon. The single was recently covered by Glee for their upcoming Valentine’s Day episode.

Goulding is reportedly touring with Bruno Mars this summer. Continue reading

When Fifth Harmony performed Ellie Goulding’s “Anything Could Happen” on The X Factor, it was their break-out performance, proving to many viewers that they have what it takes to become real artists. Now, another popular group is taking on Goulding’s single.

NBA

NBA All-Star Weekend just got more entertaining…for music lovers, at least.

The newly reunited Fall Out Boy, Ellie Goulding and Phillip Phillips will hit the stage during ‘State Farm All-Star Saturday Night’ on Feb. 16 to perform their hit songs including Phillip’s “Home” and Goulding’s “Lights.” The show will air on TNT at 7 p.m. ET.

The following day, John Legend will sing The National Anthem prior to the 62nd annual NBA All-Star Game. Neyo will perform during the player’s introductions and Alicia Keys, who just sang The National Anthem at the Super Bowl, will perform during halftime. The game will air on Feb. 17 on TNT at 8 p.m ET

Wowza! They definitely have something for everyone!

Ellie Goulding performs at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Ga (ellie-g.com)

Who is Ellie Goulding? Prior to seeing her in concert during her sold out show at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, Ga., the third stop on the North American portion of the Halcyon Tour, I knew her as the girl who made “Lights’ and made an honest fan out of me with the release of Halcyon. Yes, I was the fan Goulding’s super fans hated. I was the fan that only knew her through her new music. From the performances and videos I’d watched online I thought I’d enjoy her vocals, but I didn’t really expect her to do much moving.

I thought Ellie Goulding was a sweet, but slightly shy artist who would wow me with her unique vocals, but nothing else.

I knew from the moment the lights dimmed and Goulding walked on stage that I was wrong. Continue reading

ABC

Last month ABC announced a long line up of performers for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest,” but that wasn’t all of the performers!

The network recently announced that Justin Bieber and PSY will hit the stage on New Years Eve in New York with Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen and Neon Trees. On the west coast Jason Aldean, The Wanted & Ellie Goulding will join Brandy, Karmin, OneRepublic and more!!!

Seems like this year’s show will be pretty good! Will you be watching?!

Phonogenic

I haven’t been a huge fan of the music The Script has released recently, but their latest cover reminds me of why I first fell in love with them. The band put their own spin on Ellie Goulding’s “Anything Could Happen,” for BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge and it’s everything you’d want a cover to be:  Reminiscent of the original version, but fresh enough that it’s not an exact clone.

I still have faith in these guys. Continue reading
