Well guys, after weeks and weeks of releases, The Great Gatsby soundtrack is now online in FULL. As you know, Lana Del Rey, The xx, Florence + The Machine, Beyonce and Andre 3000 are just a few of the artists to grace the soundtrack with new material and covers (have you heard Emeli Sande’s cover of “Crazy in Love,” yet? Sooo good!). The album also features the jazzy track “Hearts A Mess,” another solid effort from Gotye and “100$ Bill,” another braggy track from the soundtrack’s executive producer, rapper Jay-Z, who claims that the Carters are the new Kennedys.

I must say, this is one solid soundtrack. Listen to it in full at NPR.

The Great Gatsby soundtrack will have music from Beyonce and Andre 3000, Lana Del Rey and Florence & The Machine. And, it’s executive produced by Jay Z. Translation: Everyone expects this soundtrack to sound amazing.

Earlier this week a sampler of the forthcoming soundtrack landed online, and today Florence + The Machine’s “Over The Love” was released in full. I’m not sure why I expected anything different, but, as usual, Florence Welch brings up every ounce of emotion and vibrato she has during the powerful piano ballad. Her vocals are huge, and at times repetitive, but they’re always chilling, as are the lyrics. I can always count on Florence to make me emotional for absolutely no reason.

Florence Welch in the “Lover to Lover” video

Still pushing singles from their 2011 album Ceremonials (which shows just how well the album is doing) Florence + The Machine released the video for  the churchy track “Lover to Lover”. In the Vincent Haycock-directed clip, Florence Welch is at odds with her lover in a tumultuous relationship. It’s quite the cinematic clip.

Every week I say Kelly’s latest cover is my favorite one, and every week I’m forced to eat my words. The singer recently covered Florence + The Machine’s “Shake It Out” during a New Jersey show. I don’t like her cover as much as Glee’s or the original, but it’s pretty darn good!

Check it out below and let me know what your think!!! Continue reading

Welcome back Flo!

After being forced to cancel a few of her European tour dates earlier this week due to a vocal injury Florence returned to the stage with her band this morning on Good Morning America to perform “Shake It Out” and a few other songs from Ceremonials.

It wasn’t her best performance, but she sounded good! Maybe those days off allowed her to have some much needed rest! Check out the performance below!!! Continue reading

Florence + The Machine put their best instagram filter forward in “Breaking Down.” The video follows the group as the vacation and enjoy their luxurious lives, but I really enjoy it’s nostalgic look.

It’s not a favorite, but it’s cute. Watch below!! Continue reading

Florence + The Machine released the music video for their new single “Spectrum” today. In the video Florence can be see sporting a fun layered wig, and some interesting fashions as ballerinas spin and dance around her. I’m not really sure what the point is, but it sure does look like a good time! Watch below!! Continue reading

Florence + The Machine released their brand new music video “Breath Of Life,” for the Snow White & The Huntsman soundtrack this week. The video features a lot of clips from the film as well as behind the scenes shots of the band recording the song. Watch below and share your thoughts!!! Continue reading

Florence + The Machine revealed their brand new single, which will serve as the lead single for the Snow White And The Huntsman film today. Sonically the song is HUGE, and full of a lot of dramatic sounds, but I don’t absolutely love it. I CAN, however, see how it will go perfectly with this film. Listen to “Breath of Life” below and share your thoughts!! Continue reading

Florence Welch and her band mates appeared on The Voice last night to perform their single “No Light No Light.” Florence looked and sounded amazing as usual and enlisted the help of some lovely ladies to dance to the song. I loved it! But I love everything she does, so my opinion may not be worth much. Check out the performance for yourself below!! Continue reading
