Jennifer Lopez performs on American Idol

Jennifer Lopez showed off her fun side once again during the season finale of American Idol. The singer took to the stage, not as a judge but as a performer, to introduce fans to her latest single “Live It Up.” And, yes, her partner in crime Pitbull was there in his usual suit to help turn things up a little. It’s not her best performance, or song, but it’s still JLo so she looks fabulous as usual! Continue reading

Mariah Carey performs on American Idol

One of the perks of being a judge on a single reality show is guaranteed promo and a performance slot to perform new and old material. Mariah Carey took advantage of this perk when she took the stage for nearly five minutes during Season 12′s finale to perform a medley of her hits, including “My All” and “We Belong Together,” before ending with her latest single “Beautiful.” It didn’t look like her vocals were live, but she looked amazing regardless. Kelly Clarkson performs “People Like Us” on American Idol

Do you believe in fate? If Kelly Clarkson hadn’t auditioned for season one of American Idol she wouldn’t have won the show, we wouldn’t have gotten some MAJOR hit songs, she wouldn’t have met her fiance and she wouldn’t have met her idol Mariah Carey. Seriously, all of that happened because she woke up one day and went to an audition wearing a pair of jeans as a dress.

We were reminded of Clarkson’s humble start on American Idol last night when the show introduced the singer’s performance of her new single “People Like Us” with a montage of her beginnings and success. Numbers don’t lie and Kelly Clarkson has some impressive statistics! She also has a pretty catchy dance hit on her hands with this new song. Clarkson debuted the song from her forthcoming Greatest Hits: Chapter One last night with a glow in the dark performance, before having a fan girl moment with one of her favorite singers, Idol judge Mariah Carey. Sounds like fate to me.

Ryan Seacrest, Phillip Phillips and Randy Jackson on American Idol

One of the perks of winning American Idol is guaranteed promo and performance time on the show if your music is doing well. Phillip Phillips returned to where it all began last night when he performed he latest single “Gone Gone Gone” during American Idol’s results show. I’m so very obsessed with this song.

After the performance Idol judge Randy Jackson presented Phillips with a plaque in celebration of his single “Home” going quadruple platinum.

The World from the Other Side of the Moon is in stores now.

Glee is known for their covers, and they’ve covered quite a few of Bruno Mars’ songs in the past so it should come as no surprise that the FOX group covered the singer’s latest hit song “Locked Out of Heaven.”

I don’t love it as much as I love their cover of “Marry You,” but it’s definitely a fun cover!

Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen, and Lauren Jauregui just caught their big break!

The ladies of Fifth Harmony may have come in third place in season two of The X Factor U.S., but that doesn’t mean fans won’t get to hear original material from them!

The girls, who met and became a group during the competition, have signed recording contracts with Syco Music & Epic Records and will begin working on their debut album. The album will be executive produced by Julian Bunetta (Leona Lewis, One Direction).

L.A. Reid is the CEO of Epic Records and Simon Cowell is the founder of British label Syco Music.

Reid constantly criticized the girls for their lack of harmonies throughout the season, but those critiques must’ve been his way of preparing them for a professional career!

A few weeks ago we revealed that Randy Jackson would leave the judging table on American Idol for a mentoring position. Now reports that Randy will still remain at the table have surfaced. As of now Mariah Carey is the only guaranteed judge, as Nicki Minaj has remained hush on the deal so far.

I’m sure they’re still working all of the kinks out, but I wouldn’t mind watching Randy judge for another year. What do you think?!
