Hide your feelings. October’s Very Own is having it’s 4th annual OVO Fest this August in Canada and Drake has recruited Frank Ocean and James Blake as headliners. The singers will take the stage as headliners on the first day of the festival, while Drake and “Special Guests” (read: most, if not all, of Young Money and the rest of Drizzy’s old friends) will take the stage on the second night. The festival will take place at the Moison Canadian Amphitheatre on August 4-5. The “Started From The Bottom” rapper will release his third studio album Nothing Was The Same later that month.
Tickets go on sale Friday, May 24.
Frank Ocean takes us on a trip around the world in “Lost.” The newly released video shows Ocean as a tourist having fun and performing the Channel ORANGE song. Ocean’s pretty private about his personal life, so every chance fans get to see his silly personality is a treat.
I don’t know about y’all, but I’m craving new music from this guy!

Just because Fifth Harmony is working on their debut album doesn’t mean they don’t still enjoy recording covers. The X Factor band, who recently signed a record deal with Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid, released a cover of Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You” earlier this week. The girls have clearly figured out their vocal strengths and weaknesses and they’re sticking to it, in this cover.

Frank Ocean’s Grammy performance of “Forrest Gump” was ruined by a bad case of the nerves, but Ocean wants fans to know that he CAN sing live. The singer released footage of him rehearsing for the big show, and the performance is great! It’s so sad to see how crippling anxiety can be! I hope he finds ways to cope with it, because I’d love to hear him perform more!
The rehearsal footage wasn’t the only treat Ocean’s fans received this morning as a previously unreleased track also released. The acoustic “Eyes Like Sky,” showcases Ocean’s signature vocals, but this time his lyrics turn towards a higher power instead of unrequited love.

Channel ORANGE was a concept album. Some loved it, others didn’t get it, but Frank Ocean doesn’t seem to care either way. During an interview with BBC Radio 1 he said his sophomore studio album will come close to being another concept record.
“It’s another cohesive thing, bordering on a concept record again. At the end of Channel Orange, there’s ‘Golden Girl,’ and it’s this beach scene. And I kind of want it to extend that feel into the next record all together, kind of make it that theme.”
Ocean said he’s recorded ten or eleven songs for the forthcoming project, and plans to continue working on it near the beach in Bora Bora.
“Why see the world, when you’ve got the beach?” ….and critical praise and two Grammys…
Sweet life.
Frank Ocean is shy. Most of his fans know this. Unfortunately, Ocean’s nervousness can get in the way when it comes to performing. It happened at Coachella, and it happened again at the Grammys.
Not even two Grammys, could give Ocean the confidence he needed to sing “Forrest Gump,” one of the songs on his album that has received a lot of attention thanks to a masculine noun that is used. The background was beautiful. He wore the suit we’d seen a few weeks ago. But, he was visibly shaken, and it thrown off.
:( Here’s to hoping Frank Ocean realizes how amazing he is and gets the confidence he needs to rock the stage. Watch the performance here and share your thoughts!
Frank Ocean will perform at the Grammys.
The singer hinted at this in a tweet earlier this week, but a newly released press release confirms the news. No word yet on what song the Channel Orange singer will perform.
Ocean is nominated for six awards this year, including Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Album of the Year.
Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys, Ed Sheeran and Elton John, The Lumineers, Carrie Underwood, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, fun., Mumford & Sons, The Black Keys and more are also set to hit the stage when the Grammys airs on CBS on Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. EST.
Frank Ocean may or may not be performing at the Grammys in a few weeks. I’m not sure, but he definitely shot a music video recently. Wearing a yellow suit and floating above the ground in a way that only he can, Ocean clearly has something abstract in mind for the “Forrest Gump” video. No predictable running or football shots here. Continue reading

Frank Ocean’s reign isn’t over.
Ocean and Adam Lambert received Glaad Media Award nominations today! According to Glaad, the Media Awards was created to “recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.”
Ocean’s personal life has been a fascination to the public ever since he revealed that his first love was a guy and wrote about the relationship on Channel Orange.
As for Glambert, he’s been a fabulous Diva for quite some time now!
The Awards ceremony will take place in three cities between March and May. The first ceremony will take place on March 16 in New York, the second will be in Los Angeles on April 20 and the final ceremony will take place in San Francisco on May 11.
These guys have music that everyone could love, but I’m so glad their art is being recognized by the gay community as well!
Well, this is awkward.
When Big Boi dropped a verse on Frank Ocean’s “Pink Matter,” which already featured a verse from his Outkast partner Andre 3000, many blogs (including JWS) and publications labeled it an Outkast reunion. This was only fueled by the rumor that Big Boi is preparing to release a remix of T.I.’s “Sorry,” which Andre 3000 is also featured on.
Andre 3000 released an official statement to Spin making it clear to fans that no such reunion occurred. Continue reading
