J. Cole is only two albums into the rap game, but the rapper’s confidence in his craft is that of a legend, a title he seems anxious for. The standard edition of Born Sinner features 16 tracks, a majority of which Cole produced himself. Ambitious? No doubt. But, with this release Cole still has a ways to go before he reaches legendary status, although he has cemented his spot as the voice of the forever grinding underdogs. Continue reading
Jhene Aiko brings good vibes to every song she does so when I heard J. Cole collaborated with the songstress and learned the track would make the deluxe edition of his sophomore album Born Sinner, I was pretty excited. Cole raps about a troublesome relationship that’s worth fighting for during the verses, while Aiko sings of a flame that will never burn out during the chorus. It’s a nice treat that I’m sure fans will enjoy! Continue reading
J. Cole fans have been waiting to hear Born Sinner since the rapper announced the sophomore album in November. Now, a little over a week before the album is finally released, Cole is streaming the entire album online. After having listening sessions in select cities earlier this week, the album leaked in full, but if you want to wait to buy the album on June 18 you can hear it in full here without downloading it! J. Cole’s sophomore album will be released in a few weeks and today the tracklisting landed online. Cole confirmed the album cuts via twitter, and announced that the deluxe edition of Born Sinner will include Truly Yours 3. Born Sinner will feature appearances from Miguel, TLC, Jhene Aiko, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar when it’s released on June 18.. J. Cole teams up with the ladies of TLC for “Crooked Smile.” No, really how did this happen?! Cole raps about his own crooked smile and gives a female a few words of encouragement on the Born Sinner track. “No need to fix what God already put his paintbrush on,” Cole raps, encouraging women to embrace their flaws. Although it’s critical of society, it’s also surprisingly uplifting, which if fitting for a collaboration with Chilli and T-Boz.
It’s the perfect release to get fans excited for June 18.

Well, this is interesting. J. Cole’s Born Sinner will be released June 18 and to promote the sophomore release Cole will perform at a series of secret shows in June. The shows, collectively titled “A Dollar & A Dream Tour,” will literally only cost a dollar. Tickets will be given out on a first come, first served basis. Sweet deal if you’re living in Florida, Atlanta, Chicago, etc…
But, also, waiting to get tickets for these shows will probably be absolutely chaotic.
June 18 isn’t that far away. J. Cole will release his sophomore album Born Sinner in a few weeks and today the rapper dropped “N***z Know” on his official website to get fans hype for what’s to come.
“Made a mil(lion) off the flow let these n****s know,” Cole raps in the aggressive song where he brags about his ability to make money and sex baddies. Typical? Absolutely. Continue reading
After a few setbacks fans are finally close to hearing J. Cole’s sophomore album Born Sinner. The followup to Cole World: The Sideline Story is scheduled for a June 18 release date (Cole hopes to compete with Yeezy’s forthcoming album). Born Sinner‘s lead single, the Miguel-assisted “Power Trip” has quickly become a hit amongst Cole’s fans.
Have you been listening to Truly Yours Pt. 1 & 2 to hold yourself over until the album is released?
Kanye West caused quite a stir when he tweeted “June 18,” which many believe to be the release date for his forthcoming album. The rapper debuted a few songs at the Met Gala, including the scream-heavy “I Am A God” (I’ll hold my rant for the official release) and is set to perform on Saturday Night Live on May 18. All of the hype is making fans pretty excited for what’s to come from the troubled artist!
Well, fellow rapper J. Cole reportedly wants a little competition, because The Hollywood Reporter says the rapper plans to push his sophomore album Born Sinner up a week to compete with Yeezy’s release. Born Sinner is led by the Miguel-assisted “Power Trip,” which has definitely garnered some attention for the forthcoming album, but can rapper/producer Cole compete with rapper/producer Yeezy?
J. Cole made it clear that the first volume of Truly Yours was not a mixtape or EP, but today the rapper released the second volume with six new songs, including collaborations with Young Jeezy and 2 Chainz. The new music comes after Cole dropped “Cole Summer” yesterday.
All this new music is sure to get fans excited for Born Sinner, which will drop on June 25. Continue reading
