Kate Nash’s Girl Talk has definitely become one of my favorite releases so far this year and today Nash unleashed the third video for the album. “OMyGod” is fittingly set at a beach and pool party, with Nash having a terrible time while everyone around her has the time of their lives. At night she sits up and writes postcards that she’ll never send to an old lover. So sunny, yet so sad.

Here’s to hoping visuals for “Sister” will come shortly. Continue reading

Have 10p Records

Have 10p Records

Less than four months ago I reviewed Death Proof, an EP Kate Nash released to hold fans over until the release of her third studio album Girl Talk. Compared to her first two albums, Death Proof showed Nash experimenting with a darker sound, so I was interested in hearing how the new album would turn out sonically. Continue reading

Kate Nash in "3 AM" video

Kate Nash in “3 AM” video

Kate Nash released the music video for “3 AM,” the “first rockin’ single from ‘Girl Talk’” (her words NOT mine) last night! The video shows Nash reminiscing over a past relationship at 3 a.m. and murdering a teddy bear. Good times.

Nash is known for her corky videos and lyrics, and this new treat is no different. It’s a fun peak at what’s to come and incorporates a few of the punk elements prominently displayed in last year’s Deathproof EP.

10p

Kate Nash surprised fans last week by announcing a new EP and today Death Proof is officially available for purchase under Kate’s label ’10p.’

Kate first appeared on the scene in 2005 and shortly after she released her first commercial album Made Of Bricks. Fans immediately grew to love Kate for her cheery singing and writing styles and her ability to write about typical topics like love and heartbreak in the wittiest of ways. In 2010 Nash released her sophomore album My Best Friend Is You and with it came the corky songs that fans had grown to expect, but with more mainstream appeal and nods to Kate’s feminists beliefs.

I would’ve expected her next project to follow her first two albums closely, walking the line between indie and pop, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Continue reading

Kate Nash Promo Pic – Pledge Music

Kate Nash surprised fans with a new song and video on Halloween and ever since then I’ve been itching for more!

Fortunately for me and other fans, the singer made a huge announcement yesterday on Pledgemusic! Nash announced that she will release her third studio album Girl Talk early next year under her record label ‘have 10p.’

But fans won’t have to wait that long to hear new music. This morning she released a brand new song and video titled “Death Proof” and on Nov. 19 she will release an EP for fan’s listening pleasure! I think it’s safe to assume these new projects will take on a darker feel and sound based on “Fri-end?” and “Death Proof.”

Fans can make pledges (the minimum being $13) over on PledgeMusic in order to receive new content, including the EP and album, before they’re officially released.

Watch “Death Proof” below and let me know if you’re ready for all this new music! Continue reading

Kate Nash – The Island Def Jam Music Group

Kate Nash is the only one that can make me a huge fan of Halloween. Today, the British singer released a new song, “Fri-end?” with a Halloween themed video AND she announced that a new EP is coming soon. From the sounds of “Fri-end?” the EP will be full of break up and corky self-conscious songs. I can’t wait.

We haven’t gotten new music since My Best Friend Is You (which is still in rotation, by the way) so I’m pretty giddy over here.
