Nelly Furtado

Nelly Furtado is back! Her newest album since her all-spanish language Mi Plan is full of bass-heavy club bangers. Furtado even serves as executive producer. Continue reading

Last week Nelly Furtado teased fans with a behind the scenes look at the making of her new video for “Parking Lot” and today the video is released in full. As we mentioned before,  there’s Nelly standing on a car rocking a crazy bun, and a line of Mini Coopers waiting to be driven in a night race. Cool. The Ray Kay directed video features a slow mo dance break and some very pretty glamour shots of Ms. Furtado.

Check out the video below:

We got a listen of the track in late August, and now we get a behind the scenes look at the video for her third single from the still unreleased The Spirit Indestructible. She’s released a BTS video before, for her last single but we didn’t find that very necessary. What I got from the clip was Nelly standing on top of a car in a crazy bun, a line of Mini Coopers covered in their own materials so that they each look like different breeds (one has Christmas lights, another looks papier-mâchéd, and another has tiger stripes…).

But check out the making of the video clip for yourself below!

I cannot tell a lie, Nelly Furtado’s album samplers for The Spirit Indestructible are a snoozefest, though her nasally vocals won’t actually allow you to fall asleep. That being said, I love Nelly and I want her to do well, BUT none of the singles released from this album have been successful and I’m hoping at least a few of the songs from the albums can catch on.

I won’t fully judge until I’ve heard the full album. Until then, listen below. Continue reading

“Meet us in the parking lot we’re gonna turn the speakers up,” Nelly Furtado sings in the chant-worthy “Parking Lot.” Nelly recently released the lyrics video for the song which serves as the third single for her forthcoming album The Spirit Indestructible.

So far she’s failed to have a hit single, and while I don’t think this will be any bigger than the others I will admit that it’s my favorite single thus far.

After releasing a brief behind the scenes look into “The Spirit Indestructible,” Nelly finally released the video for her second single this morning. The scenery in the video is beautiful, and was shot in Vancouver.

Will this give Nelly’s latest project the push it needs? I doubt it. It’s cute, but I seriously want her to get it together. Continue reading

Nelly Furtado hasn’t had much success single wise this year, but maybe the video for “The Spirit Indestructible” will give this project the push it needs. I’m still not too fond of the song, but I didn’t like “We Found Love” until I saw the video so anything is possible.

Today the singer released a new behind the scenes clip from the set of the upcoming video.

Nelly Furtado’s “Big Hoops” failed chart wise, but Nelly is finally ready to move on to the second single from her upcoming album The Spirit Indestructible. The title track features Nelly’s typical nasally vocals and a beat that sounds like it could’ve been on Ciara’s first album. That being said I don’t think it’s going to do any better than the first single.

I hope, for her sake, I’m wrong. Listen below and share your thoughts!!! Continue reading

Nelly Furtado’s first single didn’t do so well, but the singer is ready to move on to her second single. The title track for her upcoming album will be released soon, and will hopefully garner some public interest in the album before it’s released in September.

I like Nelly Furtado, I really do, but there are some things we need to address.

Nelly performed her latest single “Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)” last night during the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto. The performance was SUPER nasally (as usual) and extremely had for me to sit through. There has to be someone in her camp that can introduce her to her diaphragm and tell her to sing from it.

Other than that the performance wasn’t BAD, it just wasn’t spectacular. I kind of wish Nelly would backtrack and name this single a buzz track so we can move on. It hasn’t done well, and I honestly don’t think that’s going to change.
