Maroon 5 will perform at the MTV VMAs for the first time this year, just a little over a week before they release their new album V.

According to MTV, the band will perform a song from the new project. So far fans have only heard two songs from V, the lead single “Maps” and buzz track “It Was Always You.”

Usher, Ariana Grande and 5 Seconds of Summer have also been tapped to perform at the VMAs this year.

The show will air on Sunday, August 24 at 9 p.m. EST.

V hits stores September 2.

Sam Smith and Disclosure perform "Latch" on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Sam Smith and Disclosure perform “Latch” on Jimmy Kimmel Live

“Latch” is the electronic hit that just won’t quit.

Although the Disclosure single was released over a year ago, it’s still gaining popularity in the U.S. and the boys are still doing promotional performances. The Disclosure brothers and Sam Smith stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform the hit single last night.

It’s definitely a treat to watch the duo work their magic and hear Smith belt out that infectious hook, but I can’t be the only fan ready to move on from this single.

“Latch” is currently at no. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, while Smith’s “Stay With Me” is currently sitting pretty at no. 3. The British crooner’s latest single “I’m Not the Only One” debuted at no. 69 on the chart this week following the release of the song’s emotional music video. Continue reading

Jessie J performs "Bang Bang" on Elvis Duran

Jessie J performs “Bang Bang” on Elvis Duran

Jessie J’s huge pop single “Bang Bang” was released a few days ago and J went right on the promo trail to promote it. The official single features verses from Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, but J performed the song alone for Elvis Duran’s ‘Z100 Morning Show.’ Accompanied by a guitarist, the singer once again showed off her vocal prowess.

Surprisingly, perhaps, the stripped down version of the song is still pretty fun even without the Max Martin production!

Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj recently hung out while on the set of the song’s video shoot. Continue reading

Fifth Harmony in “Bo$$” video

Fifth Harmony in “Bo$$” video

Fifth Harmony’s “Bo$$” came as a surprise to many fans. The sexy video, urban production and punch-line lyrics let the music world know that the ladies are bringing it for their debut album and their latest teaser is just as sassy.

The ladies debuted a new song that is reportedly called “Reflection” while in Texas recently with more sexy dance moves and hair slinging. It’s hard to pick out all of the lyrics, but it’s safe to say the ladies are feeling themselves on this cut, too. “Boy I ain’t talking ’bout you, I’m talking ’bout my own reflection,” they sing during the song’s hook.

Not only have the girls “moved on,” they’re clearly not paying these boys any attention this time around.

I’m definitely interested in hearing more from the former X Factor contestants forthcoming LP. Are you? Continue reading

View the rest of the iHeart Radio Music Festival lineup here.

The 2014 iTunes Festival is looming and the first round of performers have been revealed.

Sam Smith, Pharrell, Kylie, Maroon 5 and Beck, 5 Seconds of Summer and Kiesza are just a few of the artists whose names are currently on display on the festival’s official website.

The festival came to the United States for the first time this year at SXSW with performers like Coldplay hitting the stage.

Tinashe performs "2 On" The Wendy Williams Show

Tinashe performs “2 On” The Wendy Williams Show

Tinashe stopped by The Wendy Williams Show recently to perform her popular single “2 On.” The newcommer didn’t bring out collaborator Schoolboy Q, but she did showcase a few of the fun dance moves from the song’s music video.

The single and choreography are seriously so infectious. It’s like I love it more with each new listen/performance.

Tinashe is currently planning to release her debut album Aquarius later this year. Continue reading

Nicole Scherzinger’s “Your Love” is an effortlessly breezy summer single, but she strips it down to the bare minimum in a new acoustic performance.

Singing the song with a guitarist, keyboardist and percussionist, Scherzinger’s vocals are on full display and, for the most part, she keeps things light and playful, just like the song’s lyrics.

Even in this version, the star is the irresistibly catchy “da-do-do-do” hook. Continue reading

Kiesza and David Letterman

Kiesza and David Letterman

Last night while Fifth Harmony fans were camping out to see them perform on TODAY, Kiesza fans were sitting by the television watching the Canadian newcomer perform her single “Hideaway.”

The “Giant In My Heart” singer didn’t deliver her best vocals, but she did dance around the the David Letterman studio and outside in front of an open fire hydrant. Watching the singer dance on the street in front of the brick buildings as a nod to the song’s music video was definitely a treat.

The ladies of Fifth Harmony did a lot of dancing on the TODAY show this morning, but their performance involved a lot more body rolls than Kiesza’s. The X Factor girl group debuted their new single “Bo$$” live in front of screaming fans, while wearing all white, a nod to the song’s artwork and music video.

Kiesza’s Hideaway EP is in stores now.

Fifth Harmony will release their full-length LP later this year. Continue reading
