Ryan Seacrest, Phillip Phillips and Randy Jackson on American Idol

One of the perks of winning American Idol is guaranteed promo and performance time on the show if your music is doing well. Phillip Phillips returned to where it all began last night when he performed he latest single “Gone Gone Gone” during American Idol’s results show. I’m so very obsessed with this song.

After the performance Idol judge Randy Jackson presented Phillips with a plaque in celebration of his single “Home” going quadruple platinum.

The World from the Other Side of the Moon is in stores now.

Phillip Phillips in "Gone Gone Gone" video

Phillip Phillips in “Gone Gone Gone” video

Phillip Phillips released the music video for “Gone, Gone, Gone,” the second single from his debut album The World from the Side of the Moon over the weekend. The video features grainy shots of lovers, young and old, as well as clips of kids and families having fun. The video is full of good times, so it’s almost impossible to watch this video without smiling.

Phillips also performed his hit single “Home” this weekend, during NBA All-Star festivities!

NBA All-Star Weekend just got more entertaining…for music lovers, at least.

Phillip Phillips performs on The Ellen Show

Phillip Phillips is moving on from “Home.”

The American Idol alum performed his newest single “Gone Gone Gone” on The Ellen Show yesterday and made me fall in love. Stylistically, this song is very similar to “Home” so if you liked that single (and, honestly, who didn’t) then you’ll enjoy folk-inspired follow up.

Phillip’s debut The World from the Side of the Moon is in stores now!!!

The list of songs we’ve picked as our favorites of the year nicely depict what types of songs made up the year’s chart toppers. Cool indie songs, a smooth R&B track and a bumping hype song all helped us get through the year as we traveled to and fro.

“Unapologetic” promo pic – Island Def Jam

All the promo has paid off! Rih Rih just got her 12th No. 1 album on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Diamonds” the lead single from the singer’s seventh studio album Unapologetic, knocks Maroon 5′s “One More Night” to No. 2. That number one single means Rih is on track to have her first number one album! Sales are projected to hit 225,000 and 250,000. That would beat 2010′s Loud which hit No. 3 with 207,000. Stay tuned to see if that comes to fruitiome next week. Continue reading

Interscope Records

American Idol winner Phillip Phillips brings together folk, country, singer-songwriter and rock sounds on his debut The World from the Side of the Moon. On the first track that inspired the album title, there’s a big country fiddle and even a break for a bluegrass style violin solo that then progresses into a saxophone solo at the end. Contrary to how you may hear it in your head upon reading this, it totally works. Continue reading

Phillip Phillips is preparing to make his debut later this month and the singer’s camp has finally released the sampler for his forthcoming album, The World From The Other Side Of The Moon.

I don’t like to judge albums based on snippets, but I can’t wait to hear these songs in full. Check out the snippets below and share your thoughts! Continue reading

Phillip Phillips’ debut single “Home” has become a HUGE hit in the last few weeks, and the singer is finally ready to give fans new music. The American Idol winner announced the album title and release date for his debut album earlier this week via twitter. The World From The Other Side Of The Moon will be released on Nov. 19.

I like the long name. It stands out, right?! I’ll admit I didn’t watch or support Phillips on American Idol, but I love “Home” so I can’t wait to see what else he has up his sleeve!

Are you excited for The World From The Other Side Of The Moon?
