When you imagined visuals for the Robyn and Röyksopp throbbing party anthem “Do It Again” you probably didn’t imagine a passionate black-and-white-styled music video. But that’s exactly what the collaborators went for.
The artists make brief appearances throughout the video, which focuses on a group of people who are loving and fighting as hard as they possibly can in the midst of chaos.
The concept sounds uplifting, but, according to the video’s director, Martin De Thurah, it is actually a little darker than one may initially think.
“I worked with the idea of ‘what is our heart’s desire?’—and I realized that no one in the world truly gets to live out their passions. We are all under some construct, whether you’re an atheist living in Denmark or a gay person in Russia,” he told Dazed.
“Do It Again” is the title track from Robyn and Röyksopp’s joint mini-album, which was released earlier this year. Continue reading
“Love” can make you toss pride aside and do/say some pretty crazy things. This often sounds much better sonically than it looks, though. Think about it, if Robyn was really dancing alone in the corner of a club in an attempt to catch her old beau making out with his new love it would be pretty pathetic. But, when this concept is put to music it turns into a relatable tune filled with heartbreak and desperation.

As if Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” wasn’t already sad enough, Kings of Leon covered the song for BBC Radio 1 yesterday and turned it into a guitar-driven ballad. Lead singer Caleb Followill’s passionate vocals add so much to the already vivid lyrics. It’s a pretty brilliant cover, honestly.
Expect this one to be on my end-of-the-year cover list come December. Continue reading
Few women can get away with being as bold as Robyn is on “Call Your Girlfriend.” Seriously, ol’ girl is the mistress telling her paramour how to break up with his girlfriend…
That being said, I get nervous every time someone covers this song because Robyn does it SO well (and the cup covers are untouchable), but Cher Lloyd decided to give it a go earlier this week. Sporting a new blue hairstyle, Lloyd put her own spin on the pop tune.

I stan for Robyn, AND I love this song, but this video is nowhere near as great as Indestructible in my opinion.
What do you guys think?!
