“I’m tryna raise the bar high, who tryna jump and get it?” – Kendrick Lamar
Things got real last night when Big Sean dropped the seven minute track “Control” with verses from Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica. All of the rappers came hard, but K Dot gave yet another unforgettable verse, telling his rap friends like Sean, J. Cole, and Wale that he’s trying to murder them and make sure their core fans forget they ever existed. Yup, he dropped names. No subliminal shots here.
The friendly rap competition has been pretty interesting to watch lately, but things just got tense. Leave it to Kendrick Lamar to heat things up, keep everyone on their toes, and steal the show on a song that’s not even his. Oh, and he crowned himself the “King of New York,” so there’s that.
“Control” won’t be featured on Sean’s Hall of Fame because the sample wasn’t cleared.
