Many people know Mona Scott Young as the mastermind behind the Love & Hip Hop reality shows, but Mona actually manages several artists. Today Mona spoke out on behalf of her client Missy Elliott regarding rumors that she would be heavily involved in a forthcoming Aaliyah album.
According to Mona, Missy nor Timbaland have been contacted about any new Aaliyah projects despite reports of the contrary, and as of now they won’t have anything to do with the forthcoming posthumus album that Drake and 40 are executive producing with Blackground Records.
“Although Missy and Timbaland always strive to keep the memory of their close friend alive, we have not been contacted about the project nor are there any plans at this time to participate,” Mona Scott-Young, longtime manager for Missy Elliott, says. “We’ve seen the reports surfacing that they have been confirmed to participate but that is not the case. Both Missy and Timbaland are very sensitive to the loss still being felt by the family so we wanted to clear up any misinformation being circulated.”
