Fueled by Ramen

I’ve been skeptical of Nate Ruess’ solo album ever since he announced it, mostly because I’m a selfish fun. fan and I worry about what his solo success and the success of Jack Antonoff’s side project Bleachers could mean for the band’s future.

Ruess has released a buzz track from his forthcoming album Grand Romantic. “AhHa” is a raucous cut that takes a nod lyrically from fun.’s “Some Nights” (“It’s for the best you didn’t listen. It’s for the best we get our distance.”), because this whole solo project isn’t confusing and emotional enough.

The song is as rambunctious and self-deprecating as anything you’d expect from Ruess, so his fans will certainly love it.

Grand Romantic is scheduled to be released on June 16.
